Chapter 10: Sweet Revenge
"Sister, let's talk calmly. Please don't be angry, take your time to explain what happened," Yu Ning hurriedly said as she got off the bed.
It is truly fate. Just thinking about stepping into that repulsive place to apologize to that malicious older sister, only to be humiliated by her, fills me with deep resentment.
Han Wei returned home and had just entered the hall when Xiao Liang emerged from the corner and pulled him aside. He recounted everything he had heard yesterday to Han Wei, his face revealing worry and fear: "Uncle, yesterday my uncle received a call and took my aunt away overnight. My aunt said she would never enter the Yang family again. Did you really put a mouse in my aunt's bag?"
"Why is it me? My family doesn't allow keeping cats. Could it be that the mouse crawled in by itself?" Han Wei joked, feeling pleased with himself. When he turned around, Sister Yu Ning was already standing at the stairway, looking at him with a face full of reproach and said, "Little brother, you are being too reckless. Didn't you see that you scared the eldest sister almost into an accident?"
The vehicle jolted along the dirt road, and Han Wei stole a glance at his elder brother, who, as usual, sat with his eyes closed in quiet contemplation, saying nothing.
"What?" Han Wei feigned innocence, "Didn’t my sister leave yesterday? What happened?"
"Uncle, have you managed to sleep? The young lady has returned." Before the words from outside the door could finish, the door was flung open, and the elder sister, Fengrong, stormed in, her hair disheveled and her face smeared with blood, looking disheveled and panicked. Fengrong marched directly to Hancheng's bedside, seized the collar of his nightgown, and yanked him out of bed. While crying and scolding, she pounded on his shoulder and reprimanded, "What kind of good deeds have you been up to? If you're feeling upset, there's no need to feign indifference with me. If I'm bothering you, just say so clearly, there's no need to be so malicious!"
Yuying smiled and said: "I am not worried, but what about you? Did it hurt when she hit you those two times?"
Old fool, come in and let me see the treasures you brought back from my family home
Under the leadership of his elder brother, Han Wei hurried to his elder sister's house to apologize. Along the way, Han Wei felt uneasy at the thought of his elder sister's eerie manor.
After Fengrong left the Yang family, she happily took a car home. On the way, she felt something moving in her bag and cautiously opened it. In the darkness, a sticky, fleshy object darted past Fengrong's hand, startling her and sending a chill down her spine. Her hair stood on end, and with a cry of dismay, she threw the bag away. The driver, Lao Tu, was also startled and, in a panic, slammed on the brakes, causing the car to veer off the road and crash into a mailbox. Fengrong hit her head, resulting in a large bump, and her nose began to bleed, while Lao Tu injured his arm. Still shaken, Fengrong was pulled out of the car by Lao Tu and sat by the roadside for a long time. It was not until the patrol officer arrived that they checked the car for the living creature, which turned out to be a dying mouse. Upon seeing it, Fengrong immediately felt nauseous and vomited, her insides churning, while Lao Tu was left at a loss for what to do. After more than half an hour, Fengrong, in tears, regained her composure and returned to the Yang family.
A dying mouse, with damp, dark gray fur, has a hideous appearance and is twitching. Its torn flesh reveals a crimson hue, causing Yu Ning to feel nauseated and retch.
Sister, do not be angry, calm down first. Once I bring Wei'er back, I will definitely spank him until his bottom is in eight pieces, that rascal!
Go change out of your military uniform and come to the study! Aren't you still a bit young? How much more do you want to cause a scene!
Consider the words often spoken by my elder brother: "A man must first consider the consequences before undertaking any action. As long as you believe you can bear the corresponding results of every decision you make, there is nothing to fear or regret"
Han Chen was both angry and annoyed. While instructing someone to fetch medicine for Feng Rong to treat her wounds, he also ordered someone to find Han Wei. He knew that without Han Wei, who else could handle such ridiculous and troublesome matters? Han Wei had already gone to the military camp, no wonder he rushed out; he was certain that his sister would return to settle the score.
The elder sister's home is located some distance from the city; it is a luxurious and extravagant castle estate. It was meticulously constructed by her brother-in-law, who profited from the war. In these chaotic times, such a lavish estate is rare, and it is the only aspect that Han Wei looks down upon regarding his elder brother, whom he usually reveres as a deity.
Han Wei always felt that this statement was particularly insightful. Compared to his composed elder brother, he himself tends to be more emotional when faced with decisions. Although he, like Tu Shuran, considers the worst possible outcomes before undertaking any task, he often underestimates the situation and ends up miscalculating. Just like this time with the mouse incident, he never expected that his elder sister would discover it in the car, and she almost had an accident.
Han Chen got into bed, let out a long sigh, and said to Yu Ning: "You have worked hard, elder sister, your tongue is still as sharp as ever"
"Are you daring to act but not willing to take responsibility?" the elder brother shouted sternly from behind. Han Wei immediately stood up respectfully, not daring to say more
As Xiao Liang said, China has endured centuries of turmoil and hardship because of these roundworms crawling in its intestines. Five years ago, when my elder sister established the Shujiazhuang courtyard, Han Wei once openly mocked that fat, big-eared brother-in-law, who reeked of copper, in opposition to this matter, and was subsequently given a good scolding by my elder brother.
This, this, this is kept in my handbag. I didn't have it when I brought jasmine powder to my sister-in-law this afternoon
